It Takes a Village...

I remember when my Mom was sick and going in and out of the hospital. My Dad who could not be with us needed my brother and I to be taken cared of while he was absent. He gave money for food and allowance. A neighbor we had was quick to sign up for the job and it was not a good experience. Mrs. Harris got wind of it, and took my brother and I in her home for the last two weeks, my Dad needed help and she didn't take a dime from him and took care of us as if we were her own. That was the type of woman Mrs. Harris was. My mother, was so relieved and grateful. I will never forget that, never... My son could not have been more blessed with the family she nurtured and neither could I.
