Obituary for Owen McLean

Owen Wilford McLean {75}, of Yonkers, NY passed away on December 20, 2022.

Owen, affectionately known as "Duece", "Two", or "Uncle Two", was born August 3, 1947 to mother Adeline Mclean and father Joselyn Mclean in Kingston, Jamaica. The youngest of 9, Mr. McLean followed one of his sisters and moved to Freeport, Bahamas in his late teens. After living there for a few years, he then moved and settled down in New York City where he met and married his wife Hawa Jamels McLean (Missy) in 1976.

He was a career focused and ambitious man who loved and supported family and friends alike whenever they were in need. He was a tradesman who did very well in construction at a very young age and went on to own his own construction company. He was a certified dental technician and architectural drafter. He also was the owner of a Jamaican Restaurant.

When he wasn't making dentures or renovating homes, he enjoyed traveling, playing dominoes and spending time with friends and family. ‘Uncle Two’ was one of the cornerstones of the McLean family who helped many from Jamaica have their start in the United States and eventually flourish on their own. Owen is predeceased by his wife Hawa Jamels Mclean. He is survived by his children Melvin, Esmine, Mervin, Cassandra and Michelle. He is also survived by his sisters Doreen and Verona (Ms. John) and multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed but certainly not forgotten
