Obituary for James Jay Cook

James Jay Cook passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021.
James was born at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, NY on July 18, 1943 to Matthew and Hazel Cook. James attended and graduated from Samuel Gompers Industrial High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War as a Rifle Marksman. Upon completion with an Honorable Discharge, ranking as General, James received the National Defense Metal and a Vietnam Service Metal.

James began his career driving a school bus for NY Bus Services and then became an employee for New York City MTA Bus Company as a bus operator, retiring after 25 years. James was known for interest in current events and love for electronics. He loved taking pictures at every event. He told you about every sale with a coupon to match.

James is proceeded in deaf by his wife Myrna, sons Marvin, Byron and Curtis. Parents Matthew and Hazel. Sister Lossie, brothers Randi and Clinton. Nephew Dean and Great Niece Ramona.
James is survived by siblings Matthew, Diane and David (Lanette), sister-in-law Barbara, nieces Audrey, Gwen (Jimmy), Shelly, Valerie (Rudy), Debbie (Derrick), Jasmine, Sharde, Chantel and Jada; Nephews Keith (Denise) and David Jr., and a host of great nieces and great nephews, other family and friends.

James will truly be missed.
