Obituary for Barbara Diana Cabey

Barbara Diana Rohan Cabey was born in Metropolitan Hospital in NY, NY on June 12, 1947.

Barbara parents were the late Sylvia Geraldine Griffin - Rohan and James Gaston Joel Rohan.

Barbara married twice, first to James Randall Davis in 1965, where they had their first child James Davis and, second to Henry George Cabey where they had Selena Cabey and Xenobia Cabey.

Barbara’s first job was at Toys r Us with her late sister Marie St. Clair, located in Bronx, NY. Barbara, later worked as a school aide/teacher for New York Board of Education for over 10 years at various schools throughout the Bronx, such as CES 42, CES110, CES 11, CES132. Barbara was outspoken and always had an inspiring story to tell. Barbara’s favorite color was yellow, we all will cherish every moment spent with her.

Later, in life, when Barbara was 40 years old, Barbara raised her first grandchild Cherise Cabey in 1987, where she became the role of mother and father, and to Cherise, Donald and Lonje. Over the years, later Barbara built a strong bond with them until her last day. Barbara was loved by her family and attended the Rohan Family Picnic every year. She loved being around her family and made sure she was present at family events. She greeted everyone with a smile and kind words of encouragement. We all will cherish every moment spent with her.

Barbara was best known for her loving personality, and her energetic dance moves, that including the dip. Barbara loved talking on the phone, taking pictures, listening to music, going to the beach, taking walks, singing, drinking her signature drink, Pepsi Cola, and most of all being around and spending time with loved ones.

Barbara was preceded in death by her six siblings: Leer, Varese Rohan, Edward Rohan, Arthur Rohan, Wayne Rohan, and Marie (Jim ST. Clair). Barbara has three loving siblings she leaves behind Lorraine Robins (Richard Robins), Sylvia Simmons and Beverly Rohan - Flanders (Tony Flanders), and two sisters-in-law Cecille Rohan and Ann Cabey.
Barbara has numerous nieces and nephews and half siblings too numerous to count.

We will miss you dearly; may you rest in peace with Jehovah God and our lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May your wings mount up as eagles-We love you, always, Rest in Peace.
