Obituary

Losing someone you love is never easy to accept. We find ourselves searching for a reason for what happened and struggling to make sense of it. God may not give us all the answers we seek. Yet if we have faith, he will give us the love, strength, and courage to carry on. If we trust in him he will help us to find peace of mind.
Gloria Agatha Williamson, 75, of Bronx, NY, entered God's eternal care at on Sunday, December 8th surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria Williamson was born on May 14th, 1944 in Chapelton, Clarendon Jamaica W.I to parents of Ernest and Othalie Graham. She attended the Clarendon School district and was a seamstress by design and was a devoted mother to her six children. She married Keith Albert Williamson Sr., and was married for over 50 years.

She migrated to Bronx, New York, in1985 and began working for the Bronx Jewish Community Counsel as a Home Health Aide Attendant. She worked for this company for over 20 years; during this time Gloria worked and brought her husband and family to States to join her. Her children will forever remember her as a devoted, kind, gentle, patient and a loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

Gloria is survived by husband Keith Williamson Sr., “QuattyCap” as he is famously known. Children; Deaconess Cerene Williamson-Leslie (Clive), Charmaine Williamson, Sophia “Michelle” Williamson, Loraine Williamson, Keith “Junior” Williamson Jr. (Maureen), Special Step-daughter Sharon Williamson-Burrell; Sister, Pauline Binder (Gene) and Brother, James Graham. Fourteen Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest Graham and Agatha Timson, daughter Dahlia Williamson-Jones, brothers Norman Jackson, Wesley Bartley and Giliford Graham.

She was dedicated in helping to raise her grandchildren and her favorite pass time was Wheel of Fortune and Wrestling.

The many times I have travelled to NY, it was my favorite time to see Aunt Gloria because I knew she had a list ready for me to go shopping at several different places; first I must go and pick up her prescriptions, then off to bank, next it was the grocery store, then to Pretty Girl...ooooh she loved that store and last place to stop was the patty shop...she needed that patty and some pepsi....oh it was such a delight to run these errands because it pleased her to know she has what she needs and she was happy.

My deepest sympathy to the Williamson Family. I did not know Gloria as well as I would have liked. But I felt like I knew her well through the stories of her daughter Lorraine and Granddaughter Sharefa. As family goes the mother, grandmother is always a big influence on what we become in this world and Gloria was a wonderful woman because when I have been the company of her daughters and grandchildren they have always made me feel like I was part of the family and not just a family friend. Kudos to you Gloria you did a great job with your family. May you rest in peace and watch over your wonderful family , they will miss you terribly. All my love and prayers.

An amazing woman was full of humour Aunt Gloria I missed your jokes and sharing your personal life stories. You have encouraged me to have another child as you would say "nobody no- fi have six pickney like me" but neither have one.
Auntie, I admire you strength how to shut up people who focus on your extra pounds, especially that woman customer in May Pen Bank and the one in the Bronx it took only a couple of your simple powerful words to shut them up while people look and laugh at the attention seekers.

We love visiting you and Daddy(Keith) in the Bronx my son remember you as the aunt who gives him multi flavour nutrament. I enjoyed sharing with you naturally grown vegetables from my garden we would sit at the table shell(open) red pea cut up callaloo ect. chat and laugh and discuss the cases of ackee and tin callaloo, how to share how many cans(as amount) who in Jersey will get also miss lady upstairs somebody down the street a friend over 179 the sharing continues. The amount one gets depends if they cook"Mi sorry for anyone that does not cook auntie said one for you". Auntie, you really had a unique way of problem -solving.
After doing the maths you would say to me my niece Morna take these and put them in the big closet push them to the far back and the rest put in the kitchen cupboard "these a fi mi"
Sorry, auntie I know you were waiting on your other UPS package but I just couldn't send it "dem things de too salt" I was concern about your health.
As you would say god is good. The good God bless you with a husband who treats you as his Queen and he the king you didn't have to speak he was always ahead knowing what are your needs. Mostly I admire he know you are going for a walk he would bring your cushion/ towel you sit on it when you get up without a word he picks it up.
I hope the good God gives him (Keith )the strength to live without your life of Love.

Sleep and take your rest, my long silky hair aunt, we missed you will always be in our heart.
So sorry you are no longer here with us to find and connect lost and missing family without you life changes.
Space here is limited only aunt Gloria and I knows the special love we share I will cherish time together in person or on the phone

ONE LOVE AUNT Gloria R.I.P
