Obituary for Naa'ila Yasmine Garrison
Naa'ila Yasmine Garrison, age 35 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 17, 2019, while at work at Special Citizens Futures Unlimited in Yonkers, New York.
She was the wife of Miguel Andre Garrison. They shared 9 wonderful years of marriage together.
Born in The Bronx, New York on July 12, 1984, she was the daughter of Nellie and Anthony Sanders.
She graduated high shool from Our Savior Lutheran School located in The Bronx, NY. Naa'ila attended Monroe College of New Rochelle, NY and proudly graduated and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science from Concordia College located in Bronxville, NY in May 2015.
She worked at Special Citizens Futures Unlimited for the past 3 years as a Direct Support Professional and was soon to become a Medical Direct Support Professional. She worked for an agency who provides care to individuals with autism. Every day Naa'ila made sure to give over a 100 % effort in taking care of her indiviuals.
She loved being home for movie nights or going out on family outings with her Husband and two beautiful daughters. She enjoyed hanging out with her girlfriends and having a blast with them around the city. Naa'ila turned herself into a workout warrior. She attended Retro Fitness Gym 5 days a week and made many new friends there. Naa'illa was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church located in the Castle Hill section of The Bronx. She had a wonderful personality and a smile that could light up a room. She will be truly missed by many.
Naa'ila is survived by her husband Miguel Garrison, her daughters Naa'yah Campbell and Laila Garrison, mother Nellie Sanders, brother Jesse Farmer and first cousins Erick Francis, Derrick Francis, Gregory Francis and Trina Paden .
She is preceded in death by her father Anthony Sanders, aunt Martha Francis, and grandmother Lula Mae McGriff.
The funeral service will be held on November 14, 2019 at 10:00am at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. 2125 Watson Avenue, Bronx, NY 10472. The interment will be at Mt.Pleasant Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
