Lois Z Ricketts, 86, of Bronx NY went peacefully home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2019 at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center Moses Division.

Lois was born on September 15, 1933 in Broadleaf, Manchester, Jamaica W.I., to the late Kathleen Allison and Richard Brown. Lois was also predeceased by two of her younger siblings, Roy and Carl Larmond.
Lois a housewife/shopkeeper in Jamaica, migrated to the United States in the early sixties to make a better life for herself and her family. She went to nursing school and graduated with a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse and started working at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Lois retired after 34 years of service to her community at that hospital.
In 1968 she returned to Jamaica to marry the love of her life, Lanford Ricketts. By the end of 1970 both her husband Lanford and he two children, son Denzil and daughter Karen migrated to the US with her.
Lois an avid Moravian, was confirmed in April 1954. She was very active member in her church, Tremont Terrace Moravian Church. Lois was on the Board of Trustees, Moravian Women, and Social Life Committees and a founding member of C.A.R.D. She was an advocate of the youth of the church and always contributed and encouraged them in their endeavors.
Lois is survived by her husband of fifty (50+) years, Lanford Ricketts, her two children Denzil and Karen Ricketts, four grandchildren, Dominique Ricketts, Denzil B Ricketts, Dwayne Young and Daniel Ricketts, four great grandchildren, Brandon Ricketts, Bela Ricketts, Bailee Ricketts and Brae-Lyn Ricketts. One brother Conrad Seymour and one uncle, Ira Allison, many cousins, nieces and nephews and countless others, too many to mention, who cared for her as she did also for them along her life’s journey.
Relatives and friends are asked to join the family for calling hours on Saturday November 2, 2019 from 9-10 at Tremont Terrace 1621 Pilgrim Ave, Bronx NY. A Christian burial will follow starting at 10:00am at the same location. Burial will follow immediately at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
