Obituary for Jessie Mae Shambley

Mother Jessie Shambley was born on April 6, 1941 in Greene Country, Eutaw Alabama. She grew up attending church at Oak Hill Cumberland Presbyterian church. She graduated from Eatman High School in 1959 and moved to New York in 1963 where she raised her two daughters,

Mother Jessie was a devoted member of the Agape Love Christian Center. She was the Mother of the church and loved her church family.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved sharing scriptures and positive words of wisdom with her family and friends on Facebook.

Mother Jessie proudly boasted about her daughters, grandsons, and great great grandchildren.

She departed this life on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Einstein Montefiore Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Mae Rice, her father, Jimmie Rise Sr., her brothers, Abraham Rice, Murray Shambley, Joe Davis Rice and Elyven Rice and her sisters, Mary Julia Rice, Venola Rice and Eunice Pippen.

She leaves to cherish her memories two loving daughters, Sheral Shambley and Velisha Hall; three grandsons, Tyrone Hall, Terrell Hall and Joshua Hall; two great grandsons, Tristen Hall and Terrell Hall Jr., and two great granddaughters, Tiana Hall and Kennedi Hall; seven sisters, Mattie Gross of Cleveland, Ohio, Perlean Spiller of East St. Louis, Illinois, Doretha Rise of Eutaw, Alabama Essie Rise Diggins of Bessemer, Alabama, Geraldine Rice, Bettie Lockley and Dorothy Brye , of New York; two brothers, Murphy Shambley of Omaha, Nebraska and Jimmie Rice Jr., of Eutaw, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Albert Lockley of New York, sisters-in-law, Maristine Rice of Eutaw, Alabama, Jennie Rice of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Margaret Rice of Sacramento, CA. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and a loving church family.
